peaceful, easy feeling in-flight: Bose Quiet Comfort 3 headphones
If you’re on a plane as much as I am, you know that one of the biggest hassles when flying is the buzzing and background noise you suffer through in-flight; this almost always translates into a major headache and continued buzzing in the ears once you’re off the plane. Absolutely worth the relatively hefty price tag, Bose Quiet Comfort 3 noise cancelling headphones are the perfect prescription for a peaceful and relaxing flight and no buzzing after flying.
Acoustic Noise Cancelling® technology cuts out engine sounds and still delivers incredibly clear audio from music/DVD players or the in-flight entertainment system. Version 3s are smaller, on-the-ear models as compared to the Quiet Comfort 2s, but deliver the same amazing sound cancelling qualities — when you put them on and turn on the noise cancellation, it’s almost as if someone shut off the engines. Long life battery, comfortable design and small package add up to a peaceful flight.

Did you consider suggesting the Sennheiser PXC 450 headphones instead?
I’ve never tried the QC3s, so I don’t know how they compare personally, but this review led me to buy Sennheisers:

I’ve been really happy with them so far.
Haven’t tried that specific model, but have used Sennheiser before and like them (although not as much as the Bose). However, I am a brand loyalist and think Bose are fantastic. I would have to argue about noise cancellation being better per the review you list; my quiet comforts are amazing in cutting out engine sound, and there’s no need for microphones to hear your neighbor. Even with them on, I always can hear and understand flight attendants, etc.
Clearly there are a lot of options out there and many are excellent! Thanks for the comment.
